Abdel Halim Hafez

Abdel Halim Hafez born February 6,1929 in a small village called "Halawat" in Sharqia. Abdel Halim graduated from the Academy of Arabic Music in 1948 and joined the Egyptian radio in 1952 - to become a favourite singer  among the young generation at the time.

He acted and sang in a total of 16 movies.  His songs are until now a leading path for the young generation. 

Abdel Halim Hafez died March 30, 1977 .

Ehab Tawfeeq

Ehab's  love to music started since he was a young kid . He learned to play the Oud when he was 9 years old . He received tutoring from a music teacher who was a friend of his dad.

In 1995 he received his Masters Degree. The thesis was: "The Egyptian Song in the Second half of the twentieth Century".

Finally, Ehab has very recently completed his  PhD in music.

Amro Diab

Amr Diab was born in Port Said  into an artistic family. His father, Abdul Basset Diab, worked for the Suez Canal Corporation where he was chairman of Marine Construction & Shipbuilding. He possessed a fine singing voice and encouraged the young Amr to sing.

One evening, when Amr was just 6 years old, his father took him to the July 23rd Festival at Port Said There they visited the local broadcasting station and Amr made his first singing appearance on Egyptian Radio performing the National Anthem "Biladi, Biladi" (My homeland). He was praised by the Governor of Port Said who awarded him with a guitar as a prize.

In due course Amr began his musical studies at the music faculty of the Cairo Academy of Art and from which he graduated in 1986.
